i loosened the strings on my 12-string in order to do some truss rod work . . . tightened the strings up a tad, played a little and was intrigued by the sound. i decided to record eight small improvs on massively out-of-tune octave strings . . . big fun.

some folks asked me to upload it . . . i did.

and then i ended up being so entranced with the sounds that i did fifteen more improvs on two subsequent days (tracks 1–8 from session 1; tracks 9–16 from session 2; tracks 17–23 from session 3).

all the improvs were recorded using one bass, straight into the mixer into ableton live with minimal processing (one slight overdrive and reverb) and eq. i changed the "untunings" from session to session.
