this is a small hommage to les mccann (1935-2023), who was a mentor and father figure to me in my early 20s.

i chose the changes from "there will never be another you" because les taught it to me one night on the bandstand in detroit, saying that it was one of hsi favorite chord progressions. it's been one of mine ever since.

anyway, trying to interweave some "mccann licks"into them, i did few passes, over two days a few days after les passed this veil of tears. these eight versions are unedited and presented "warts and all" (and there are more than a few).

anyway, here is a small token of my appreciation for a great man.
